FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
1. How do I book Stay Salty?
Start by emailing StaySaltyIOP@gmail.com with your requested dates before you book. We will set you up as a Guest of Owner, connect you with our property manager AvantStay to finalize the reservation, and arrange your deluxe welcome gift. You can check live availability and rates anytime through the Pricing & Availability link.
2. Is there a minimum stay?
Yes. Stay Salty has a 7-night minimum for all reservations during peak season and a 3-night minimum in the off season.
3. How many guests can stay at Stay Salty?
Stay Salty has 9 beds, 5 California King, 2 Queen and 2 Full, which is sleeping space for up to 18 people. The number you can actually book is lower: the City of Isle of Palms limits occupancy on newer homes, so AvantStay caps each reservation at 12 guests. If you have young children, guests under two do not count toward that limit. If you have questions you can confirm with AvantStay through the Pricing & Availability link before you book.
4. What are the sleeping arrangements?
Stay Salty sleeps guests across 6 ensuite bedrooms: five with California King beds and a custom bunk room with two queens and two doubles. Sleeping arrangements are 5 California King beds, 2 queen beds, and 2 double beds.
5. Is the pool heated?
The private pool can be heated for an added fee of $100 per day (3-night minimum), as long as the average outdoor temperature is above 55°F. You can add pool heating to your reservation through AvantStay.
6. Does Stay Salty have EV charging?
Yes. The home has an EV charger for your vehicle, plus plenty of places to charge golf carts and electric bikes.
7. Can we use golf carts at the property?
Yes. There is ample parking for vehicles and rented golf carts, along with charging for golf carts and e-bikes. Stay Salty does not supply golf carts, so guests arrange rentals separately.
8. How does beach access work?
Stay Salty is oceanfront with direct beach access by your own private boardwalk. A dune bench, an outdoor shower, and a foot wash are right there to rinse off before heading back inside. We also offer an enclosed changing area and an additional enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water just under the house steps from the beach and pool.
9. How far is Stay Salty from downtown Charleston?
Stay Salty sits on Ocean Blvd on Isle of Palms, roughly 20 miles from downtown Charleston, about a 25-minute drive. You are also within walking distance of Isle of Palms restaurants and shops at Front Beach which includes sites like The Windjammer, The Dinghy, Acme Lowcountry Kitchen, IOPizza, Coda del Pesce, Heavy’s Burgers, and much more.
10. What are the house policies?
Guests must be 25 or older to book. The home is smoke-free, and pets and ESAs are not permitted. Guests bring their own beach and pool towels; reservations of 4 to 28 nights include a $250 beach gear credit through VaykGear.
11. Is Stay Salty a non-toxic home?
We say low-tox rather than non-toxic, because no home today is truly free of toxins and we would rather be accurate than sell you a phrase. What we can tell you is what we chose. Working with healthy-home consultant The Purified Home, we built in four medical-grade air filtration systems, whole-house water filtration and structuring, metal-clad wiring and EMF blocking primer to reduce EMF exposure, hardwired internet in every room as an option, organic mattresses and bedding, and low-tox building materials and finishes wherever a lower-tox option existed or was feasible to install given the humid beach environment. If you keep a low-tox home yourself, you will recognize the standard, but we never want to claim something as non-toxic if it isn’t.
